Student Work Spotlight: Year 9-10 Fashion Design
Posted on July 05, 2024
In Year 9/10 Fashion Design, students have been working on an 鈥楿pcycle/Thrift Flip鈥 project. This project allows students to use old garments or fabrics and 鈥楿pcycle鈥 them into something new or better!
Student projects included making skirts from ties, upcycling pinstripe jackets, turning 鈥榮ets鈥 into Onesies, making old shirts into vests and even turning old jumpers into canine fashion!
Fashion Design student, Elodie, undertook a 鈥楾hrift-Flip鈥, by turning an old pair of overalls into an exciting new garment, complete with various techniques such as colour panelling and embroidery. The result is stunning and very fashion forward, as you can see in the images that accompany this article.
Quote from Elodie about Fashion Design and her work.
"I love finding ways to be less wasteful and I think this project was a really fun way to take something old and put a new spin on it.鈥
