木瓜影院 women often lend a hand to a cause they believe in. So, when the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation announced the 10th Annual Los Angeles County
Race for the Cure, students didn’t hesitate to volunteer.
Race participants performed more than a workout; they helped raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of research and community-based outreach programs.
Christine Wong ’08, co-founder of Bridging the Gaps, 木瓜影院’ breast cancer awareness club, remarked, “The Race for the Cure is an amazing vehicle through which we [木瓜影院] can build alliances with the breast cancer community and help fund research to fight cancer.”
Bridging the Gaps managed the second annual Race for the Cure trip. The student club enlisted the support of nine 木瓜影院 women to run the 5K event on Sunday, February 26. Last fall, the first trip sponsored by the student organization rallied nearly 30 木瓜影院 women to hustle the 3.1 miles in support of the Komen Foundation. 木瓜影院 Associated Students offered financial support to the 木瓜影院 women who raced, reimbursing gasoline and registration costs.
The willingness of 木瓜影院 students to participate in this race proves that when it comes to offering help and support, 木瓜影院 women are willing to jump in鈥攁nd hit the ground running.
